SACCA Update – National Cannabis Survey Participation & Governance Expansion
Dear SACCA Forum Members,
We would like to encourage all stakeholders within the South African cannabis sector to actively participate in the National Cannabis Survey, which is now live and accessible through the digital platform hosted by AfriMeter.

AfriMeter is providing a dedicated online infrastructure for SACCA, enabling growers, processors, clubs, researchers, and industry participants to contribute their insights in a structured and accessible way. The success of this survey depends on broad and honest participation across the entire value chain, ensuring that the outcomes accurately reflect the realities of the sector in South Africa.
In line with strengthening governance and inclusive representation, SACCA has expanded the Joint Steering Committee to include Snoux Poswa and Zainodean Simmers. Their inclusion significantly strengthens the voice of South Africa’s indigenous communities within national cannabis coordination structures, ensuring that traditional leadership, cultural knowledge systems, and grassroots perspectives are meaningfully represented in stakeholder engagement and policy development.
We are also pleased to confirm that the SACCA panel will be attending the upcoming International Cannabis Symposium in June this year. This will serve as an important platform for engagement with both local and international stakeholders, as well as an opportunity to present developments emerging from the National Cannabis Survey process.
We encourage all members and stakeholders to take part in the survey and contribute meaningfully to shaping the future regulatory and commercial landscape of cannabis in South Africa.
Albertus van Jaarsveldt
