Welcome to SACCA — A Message from the Administrator

Hi everyone,

My name is Bertie van Jaarsveldt, and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all members of the South African Cannabis Clubs Alliance (SACCA).

This platform is currently being administrated independently by me in my private capacity, with the goal of creating a unified space for Cannabis Clubs, cultivators, legal advisors, service providers, and individuals who support the responsible regulation of cannabis in South Africa.

I want to be clear — this website is not owned by any organisation or individual. It is a shared space, built for the community, by the community, and my role right now is simply to help get it off the ground and facilitate discussion.

As the community grows, we hope to evolve SACCA into a representative, democratic alliance led by the collective input of its members.

Invitation to Legal Experts & Contributors

If you’re a legal expert, policy advisor, or simply someone with relevant knowledge, I’d love to invite you to contribute to the development of this platform. We’re actively looking for people who can assist in refining our core documents, guiding the regulatory conversation, and ensuring we build a credible, rights-based framework for Cannabis Clubs in South Africa.

Please reach out to me if you’d like to get involved more formally.

📄 Have Your Say: Code of Compliance & Policy Paper

Two of our key working documents — the SACCA Code of Compliance and the Policy Position Paper — are live on the website. I invite you to read through them and suggest edits via the dedicated forum threads :

Drafting a SACCA Code of Compliance

Drafting a National Policy Paper

Your feedback will shape the future of this movement.

If you haven’t already, head to the Edits Forum and leave your thoughts — or upvote comments you agree with.

Want to Start a New Discussion?

If there are important topics you feel we should be discussing — whether it’s community safety, licensing, cultivation ethics, or indigenous rights — please feel free to start a new thread in the General Discussions forum. The more we talk, the better we align.

Thanks for being here, and thank you for the work you’re doing in your respective communities. This is a rare moment where we can shape something meaningful together.

With respect,

Bertie
