Why Legal Recognition Matters?

Many Cannabis Clubs across South Africa operate in a legal grey zone — upholding the spirit of the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act and exercising the constitutional right to freedom of association, yet still facing the constant threat of raids, criminal charges, or asset seizures. Formal legal recognition would provide security and clarity, allowing responsible clubs to operate transparently without fear of arbitrary enforcement. A regulated framework ensures that clubs which prioritize safety, compliance, and community health & development are no longer treated as criminal enterprises, but as part of the solution
